(The artwork was drawn by the talented kuroi susumu on Danbooru)Having spent years in Laverre City, Jubilee learned a lot from Valerie who initially ignited her love for fashion and designing accessories. Inspired by her passion and flair, she continued her love for the craft as a fashion designer in Nature's Respite, having studied the subject while observing the Gym Leader as well as the local Boutique. With each new flower that she came across, her head swam with exceedingly extravagent ideas and designs. Ultimately, she decided to sell her creations to let everyone enjoy their beauty.Mega EvolutionThe mighty, ancient tree of Laverre Town had some unforeseen effects on the Grass-type after daily exposure to it around the Gym. Apparently, it amplified her ability to absorb sunlight through her skin to such an extent that it enabled her to temporarily tap into a 'fully bloomed' version of herself akin to a Mega Evolution. If no close bond with a Trainer is formed yet, it can also be enduced by the Sun Stone embedded in her necklace.(The artwork for her Mega Evolution below was drawn by the talented koyorin on Danbooru)

Fueled by the excitement of seeing Aria perform on stage and the joy she felt moving about with the group of wild Pokémon, she knew she had to go down the path of a Pokémon Performer like Aria herself did years ago.Despite never offically catching any of the Spinda she befriended, she spend an extended period of time training and performing with the group as a child. Able to easily tell them apart by their various unique spot patterns. To most people they may have appeared to be roughly the same Pokemon giving their species, but the young woman was able to bring out the unique strenght in each of them after weeks of closely training with all of them - a trait that would stay with her for all of her future ventures. After happily revealing her humble beginnings to the press, they swiftly dubbed her the Danching Queen and the adoration of her loyal fans seemed to grow tenfold overnight.

Even as a wild Pokémon, instead of fighting, she sought to soothe the souls of those around her with her musical talents. After a while of wandering around, she came across the Super Contest Hall in Hearthome City and it was love at first sight! The dazzling lights, the beat of the music and the cheer of the crowd immediately got her hooked - to the point where she'd join a Coordinator's team just to compete in the events, leaving them shortly afterwards regardless of the outcome of the competition.Naturally, the Poffin House mere feet away added to the appeal of the city, not only serving as a sweet reward after a successful performance but also raising her Contest condition to give her an even better chance next time! While quite tasty, it was a rather viscous circle of spending her earnings, snacking and dieting before an important Contest. After having the time of her life in most of the unique Contests, Viola strived for more and looked into becoming an Idol to bring joy to millions of people and Pokémon everywhere. Having honed her skills for years, she was ready to conquer the world as a famous Idol!

Yugioh AUEver since her childhood, Ann had always been a rather curious girl, wandering about wherever her whim took her. On one of her outings, she noticed that the forest near her family home had little to no flowers, so she snuck a few seeds from her mother's garden and planted them at the woodland's edge, intend to be make any potential forest dwellers happy. After weeks of daily trips and careful watering, the redhead rascal noticed not only budding flowers, but also a peculiar duel monsters card embedded amidst her secret garden. As fate would have it, the Duel Spirit Aromage Jasmine had been curious about the daily visitor as well. She had eagerly watched the young girl lovingly tend to her flowery friends. At some point, she decided to formally invite the human into the Aroma Garden to meet her friends and enjoy the beauty of flowers together!Luckily, or unluckily, Ann's parents knew all about their daughter's vivid imagination so neither of them believed her as she recounted her experience of the day at the dinner table, not even with the card as proof.During her stay in the Duel Monsters Spirit World, Ann befriended the inhabitants of the Aroma Garden and learned quite a few things about flowers - something she cheekily bragged about while helping her mother in her garden. After witnessing how much the small child cherished nature's beauty, Aromage Bergamot opted to bestow her with the gift of life in his own unique way - by sharing with her his mastery of fire to an extent.Accordingly, Ann solemnly swore to honor their connection and build a deck with their cards, entering Duel Academy as an Aroma Duelist years later. Despite feeling the close connection to all of the Aromages, Jasmine eagerly volunteered to speak on their behalf as Ann's Duel Spirit - and have an excuse to visit the human world to her heart's content - since those two initially bonded during her earliest days.

(The artwork was drawn by the talented Budgiepon on Danbooru)Spider-Ann AU𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄During her journey through the Kanto region, Ann's curiosity led her to pay Bill a visit in his Sea Cottage in Cerulean City with her Ariados on the way to get her second Gym Badge. Upon finding the brilliant inventor stuck in one of his teleporters - looking like a Pokémon no less -, the kind Bug Catcher did everything within her power to restore the poor man back to his original form, but she was woefully ill-prepared to operate the Cell Separation System on his PC to do so.Having anticipated such an occurrence and having appropriate safety measures in place, Bill told Ann to set foot into the second teleporter and flip the emergency switch within to revert the process. While the two succeeded in returning Bill to normal by separating his cells from those of his Pokémon, the procedure had the complete opposite effect on the unfortunate woman present in the other capsule. After the smoke cleared and both capsules released their occupants, a frightened and confused Ann stumbled into the room and ran as far as her legs would carry her —— vehemently denying the fact that her beloved Ariados was no longer with her...𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀Thankfully, Ann retained her physical appearance for the most part and Ariados' properties manifested in ways that could be concealed if need be.It's mandibles enhanced the former Bug Catcher's jaw and teeth, allowing her to cut and bite down with greater force.Ann knew full well that her Pokémon had the ability to produce thread from its spinneret and its mouth, but she was still relieved to see that both silk-spinning organs ended up located in her wrists, able to dispense spiderweb through a needle-thin orifice.Potentially the most shocking revelation was that Ann's feet, just like Ariados' had been prior, were tipped with tiny hooks that allowed the woman to climb ceilings and vertical walls effortlessly.𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 —— Despite being one of her most basic moves, it shouldn't be taken lightly. Firing a multitude of barbs laced with poison from her wrists, Ann is able to inflict damage from afar, potentially even leaving her foes poisoned.𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜 —— After immense concentration beforehand, the Pokémon-human hybrid is able to hit her target with a strong telekinetic force to either bring them to their knees or outright push them backwards. The move will leave Ann mentally drained and valuable to attacks, however.𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰 𝐒𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐤 —— Manifesting her fear of Ghost-types, the former Bug Catcher creates a shadow of herself on the ground, which extends past the opponent. With them focused on Ann herself, the shadow then attacks the opponent from behind.Ann herself is required to maintain contact to the ground during this attack as jumping to evade attacks would break her focus.𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐛 —— One of Ann's exceedingly rare close-combat moves.Calling upon the poison now coursing through her body, the heroine will try to stab her foe with a arm steeped in poison. Since contact may also poison the foe, she might also use this particular move defensively when blocking a direct attack.𝐁𝐮𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐳𝐳 —— Building off of what Ann had learned while practicing Screech, she slowly mastered causing the air to vibrate with her scream until it generated a damaging sound wave. Not only lowering the defenses of her opponent, but also inflicting physical damage to them from afar.𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡 —— Emitting an ear-splitting screech, Ann will try to irritate her opponent, hopefully causing them to sharply lower their guard and allowing her to hit them that much more effectively.𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭 —— This move in particularly was quite 𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 to perfect.Turning her gaze inwards, Ann is able to willingly fall asleep and restore her energy, ridding herself of minor illnesses in her slumber. Something that she realized after the fact was that the heightened senses of her late Ariados allowed her to stir awake in the face of approaching danger.𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 —— This move is meant to be playful more than anything. Ann would wink or blow a kiss at the other, causing multiple pink hearts to fly out and surround the recipient. Accentuating her female charms, the heroine tried to have the other fall for her and render them unable to attack her at times due to 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦.𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞 —— As the name implies, the move allowed Ann to endure any blow with at least a sliver of energy left. One of the huge drawbacks of such a risky endeavor was that Ann would be left with no energy to muster any attack of her own, defend herself or do much besides desperately try to get to safety.Furthermore, chances of the move failing rose if used in succession. Needless to say, anyone would be disencouraged from taking such a gamble unless it was absolutely necessary.𝐓𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐜 —— Not to be mistaken for Sludge Bomb, Toxic enabled Ann to release a stream of thick purple liquid towards the opponent, badly poisoning them. Since this move only made use of Ann's most potent and aggressive cocktail of poisons stored within her body, she vowed to only use it when she found herself severely threatened.Upon first contact with the skin, the amalgamation of poison would grow worse over time, the longer it remained untreated the faster it'd drain the victim of its energy.𝗨𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 —— Making use of the pair of silk-spinning organs that she was gifted, Ann will aim to bind her target with silk shot out of needle-thin orifices located at her wrists, not only aiming to harshly lower their speed, but preferably even get them stuck to the ground.𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐞𝐛 —— Although it might bear a striking resemblance to String Shot, this move is primarily used to cut off any escape routes that Ann's foe might have left.𝐀𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 —— Momentarily relaxing and lightening her body, Ann is able to greatly increase her movement speed.𝐏𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞 —— Largely utilizing the same motions as Poison Sting, sharp pins are shot at the foe in rapid succession - either using the sheer amount of projectiles to cover a large area around the target to restrict movement or attempt to have all pins converge on her target to deal damage.𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 —— By moving rapidly - through moves such as Agility -, Ann is able to create illusionary copies of herself. The copies can be used to disorient the enemy, reducing their accuracy, conceal an attack or disengage from a fight while the enemy is distracting by the copies. It's by far the most versatile move in her repertoire, be it in or out of combat.𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 —— In much the same vein as Attract, Swagger was never really meant to be applied to any actual combat situation. Ann would begin dancing in an earnest attempt to either get her foe to heartily laugh at her bad dance moves or infuriate and confuse them to have an easier time with them during battle.𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 —— Rather than the actual move Strength, this is referring to the feat that the average spider can lift 8 times their own body weight —— which translates to roughly 1.000 pounds when considering Ann approximately puts 130 pounds on the scale.𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝐋𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 —— A peculiar attack. Biting down after Ann's jaw and teeth got enhanced by Ariados' mandibles, she can drain the target's energy and replenish her own health depending on how much damage she inflicted.𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐛 —— Where String Shot or Spider Web are moves to actively hinder her opponents, Sticky Web is more of an entry hazard when engaging Ann in combat under her own terms.Just like any ordinary spider would do, Ann would be awaiting her adversary in a thin, sticky net that she had weaved on the ground all around her, lowering their speed upon coming into contact with it.Notably, this trick won't work on flying enemies or on anyone able to levitate.𝐓𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 —— After internalizing the concept of String Shot and Poison Sting, it became surprisingly easy to combine the two practices.Instead of lacing barbs with poison before shooting them outwards, Ann applied the same to her threads, ultimately using poisonous threads to poison the target and lower their speed simultaneously.

(The artwork on the left was drawn by the talented setu kurokawa on Danbooru)The artwork on the right was drawn by the talented gray-hero on deviantart)Gym Leader AUThis AU would see Ann roughly 10 years in the future, having journeyed through most of the known regions and amassing a huge variety of Bug-type Pokémon during her travels. After a satisfying journey and witnessing a myriad of awe-inspiring sights, the Bug Catcher would return to the Johto region where her journey began all those years ago. Seeing an older Bugsy still operating the Gym would put a smile on the mature woman's face and she'd excitedly share her stories and knowledge about Bug-types with her childhood crush.Invigorated and with a renewed desire to know everything there's to know about their beloved Bug-type Pokémon, Bugsy would set out on a journey of his own, having not been able to do that prior due to his responsibilities as a Gym Leader.Due to Ann's plethora of fond memories of Azalea Town as a whole, she'd accept his proposal to take over his position as Gym Leader without hesitation and promptly head to Kurt's house to announce her return and deliver the good news - only to find a new yet familiar Pokéball Smith in charge of the place.𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫Since the Gym had always been such an iconic part of Azalea Town's history and Ann herself was quite fond of the design, she decided to leave it mostly untouched. The only significant difference would be that her very own badge now adorned the space above the automatic doors.𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫After training with Bugsy and seeing how creative other Gym Leaders got with the interior of their Gyms, Ann knew that she had to step up her game and turn the forest maze of Azalea Town into something utterly unique. Therefore, she aimed to incorporate everything she had come to learn about forests into her Gym.Upon setting foot into the grassy, dimly-lit Gym itself, Challengers would be met with a black ceiling littered with white dots resembling stars, accompanied by a painted on canopy to round off the illusion of having stepped into a forest during the night.Directly in front of the challenger would lie three pathways leading further into the Gym itself, each separated by a tall wall of foliage and reverberating with the distant cry of a different Bug-type Pokémon...𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐲𝐦 𝐏𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐥𝐞Any challenger would be able to freely choose which pathway they'd prefer to follow further into the Gym. As soon as they left the first room behind them, the second, almost identical, room would present itself to them. Here, they would be faced with a decision: they could either choose to continue following the cry of the Pokémon that initially let them into this room, if they could hear it, or 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 and opt to pursue a different path.If any one challenger were to choose to follow a single Pokémon's cry all the way to its source, they would be greeted by the Pokémon in question, moments before it'd retreat into the woodwork and essentially leave them at a dead end, forced to retrace their steps. After they successfully traversed the second room, the challenger would come face to face with the third and last room of the Gym Puzzle, before either reaching Ann, the Azalea Town Gym Leader, or having to turn around yet again to try once more.As a little shortcut for her close friends, Ann made sure to have one of the paths reverberate with the cry of a frightened Caterpie, despite not having a Caterpie on any of her teams. This was mainly meant for the people who knew Ann well enough to know that Caterpie had been her very first Pokémon until she had to trade it away with a heavy heart. She'd jokingly refer to the shortcut as 'following a Caterpie until its a beautiful social Butterfree'.𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐲𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬In accordance with the theme of the Gym, each and every Gym Trainer would use a team of Bug-type Pokémon from several different regions to face challengers with.Observant Trainers might pick up on the fact that the Gym Trainers would use Pokémon whose cries echoed through the very paths that they followed to reach them. However, not every combination of pathways had a Trainer waiting at its end, it was just as likely that a dead end was the only thing in store for the challenger. To aid those who bested them, Ann's Trainers would point towards the next Gym Trainer to help their opponents out.𝐀𝐧𝐧'𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦Thankfully, the Pokémon League would allow Ann to pick out a team depending on the individual experience of a Trainer looking to challenge her. She'd use anything from three Pokémon like Bugsy used to do up to a full battle with six Pokémon as she'd see fit.𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝Anyone who'd be skilled enough to beat Ann, would get the Butterfly Badge as prove that they won at the Azalea Town Gym in addition to an instructional video on how to use a Bug-type move of their choice from a select few - this, again, would be highly dependent on their skill and experience displayed during the match.Furthermore, since it's still Ann, she'd offer to treat the Trainer who bested her to whichever pizza they'd like to have to celebrate their victory while getting to know them better and potentially even exchange phone numbers to stay in touch.
